Meet Oksana

Oksana Ivanchenko is a fashion and event illustrator, fine artist, and author. She creates artworks using traditional techniques like watercolor, ink, acrylic, as well as digital apps.

Oksana was born in 1987 in Berdyansk, located in the southern part of Ukraine (since 2022, this town and many others have been occupied by Russia).

As a child, Oksana attended art school for five years. However, she spent the first ten years of her career working as a television journalist, screenwriter, and editor. Nevertheless, her desire to return to drawing and painting prevailed.

In 2018, Oksana won the international fashion illustration competition Paris Battle 2018. This occasion became the turning point for the start of her career as an illustrator.

From 2019 to 2022, the artist collaborated with Ukrainian Fashion Week as an official illustrator. During the prêt-à-porter shows, she created more than 100 digital sketches, and 10 of them were exhibited in Rome in April 2019 at the exhibition “Ukrainian Art Fest Nuova Primavera.”

Since 2020, Oksana has been drawing fashion illustrations for Sewing Pattern Secrets.

Additionally, Oksana illustrated four children's books: “Transformation” by Patrick Ehler, “Squadron the Squirrel,” “Troxel the Tree” by Clinical Psychologist Megan Main-Baillie, and “Christmas Symbols.”

Moreover, she drew more than 170 colored pictures of flora and fauna for a French botanical atlas.

As an author and illustrator, Oksana designed 16 editions of drawing lessons for adults, including “How to Draw Portraits,” “How to Use Perspective in Drawings,” “Landscapes,” “Manga Characters,” “How to Draw Cats,” “Painting Landscapes in Watercolor,” and more.

In 2022, because of the war in Ukraine, Oksana stayed several months in Portugal, where she created a performance project—a traditional Portuguese flower carpet "Corpo de Deus" containing Ukrainian symbols and elements. The dimensions of the carpet were 20 x 3 meters.
