Meet Margie, Owner

"Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you." 1 Thessalonians 4:11

Background

I am a writer and designer who wears many hats. I studied fine art and design at the New England School of Art and Design on Newbury Street in Boston, as well as multimedia design at UMass Lowell.

I have worked in a wide range of industries throughout my career. This diverse experience has contributed to my success in content creation and web design and development..

What Was Your Favorite Job?

Other than being a mom, my favorite job was the one where I felt like an outcast and mismatched with the skills for many years. But my job as a church secretary taught me the most out of all my roles. It taught me how to be a thoughtful and responsible worker, and to work with integrity and pride.

My boss was patient with me as I learned how to organize publications and work through interruptions.

For nine years, I served my Lord and Savior in that position as a publications specialist. I learned how to format and edit documents and send messaging according to stylistic rules.

Who is Marjorie Vaudreuil?

I am the founder and owner of SewingPatternSecrets LLC, based in Boston, MA—a digital platform featuring curated sewing patterns, instructions, video tutorials, and eBooks.

Sewing Pattern Secrets was conceived with my husband, my #1 supporter, during the pandemic in 2020. I created the brand and product line, while he manages the sales funnels, using a model similar to his widely successful funnel for Ted’s Woodworking plans on the ClickBank platform.

I can’t forget my mom, who passed away in 2017. She supported my decades of artistry and was a benefactor of the initial production costs.

My husband—driven, gifted, and brilliant—has unfailingly supported all of my endeavors in every way imaginable. He is an award-winning advertising expert, and I am continually blessed to learn from him.

I conceptualized, developed, produced, tested, and edited more than 150 curated sewing patterns, instructions, and eBooks, drawing on my decades of experience.

I also managed a team of fashion designers to bring my ideas to fruition. At one point, I oversaw as many as seven designers. Following the initial launch, we now work with a core team of approximately four regular designers, with additional designers available as needed.

Our original team included four master seamstresses, vector artists, graphic designers, and an exceptional fashion illustrator.

As such, I am uniquely positioned to share my expertise and everything I have learned along the way—not only in sewing, but also in project and product creation, as well as all areas of content creation, organization, and design.

In addition to writing all of the eBooks for Sewing Pattern Secrets, I am also the primary writer of this newsletter. However, I am actively seeking other (human) sewing bloggers who would like to partner with us.

We welcome guest bloggers, vloggers, and influencers, and we also extend an open invitation to contribute content to your platform as well.

We value your insight and would love to hear your ideas and suggestions for improving our blog, products, or advertising.

Please comment—we truly want to hear from you. Please do write me at [email protected].

Blessings, Margie
