But here’s the real magic: ✨ FABRIC = EVERYTHING.

🧵 Fabric Considerations

(For Pros Only to play around with) Lightweight Fabrics (rayon challis, voile, georgette, chiffon):

• Create a fluid, blouse-like silhouette

• Feature soft sleeves that can be made to billow and move with grace

—»Light to Medium-Weight Fabrics (Cotton, Poly, Bamboo, Rayon Blends):

Use Light Weight single knits, interlocks, jersey, slub jersey, ITY, knits and jerseys with weft stretch.

🔍 Fabric Learning Note:

 ⛔ Don’t use “stretch fabrics” just something that says “jersey”. Reason: You do not want stretch on the vertical that will weight down the drape. Only some stretch on the weft. Avoid modal, it’s too heavy for this look.

• Provide a structured yet comfy fit

• Sleeves stay full around the wrist

• Ribbed cuffs or fabric cuffs help anchor the look

🪡 Neckline & Cuff Options

You have options:

• Use the included pattern pieces for neckline and cuff bands

• Or purchase pre-made ribbing for a sportier, polished finish

⚠️ Construction Tip: Stay Tape is Your Friend

If your fabric doesn’t include spandex, be sure to stabilize the neckline with stay tape to prevent stretching. This is essential for keeping the neckline looking sharp wash after wash.

This pattern is perfect for weekend lounging, running errands in style, or dressing up with a necklace and boots. Add it to your seasonal sewing list—you’ll want more than one in your wardrobe!
